The pyramid is a conspicuous component of our office logo. It symbolizes along with the caduceus the three aspects of our medical practice, Family Medicine, Geriatrics and Wellness and the three dimensions of family medicine; knowledge, skill, and process. It also stratifies the various values which govern the way we work and the way we practice medicine. Our mission statement and vision statements were derived from those core values
Mission Statement: - the compassionate and holistic application of family practice principles as defined by the American Academy of Family Physicians
Family medicine is the medical specialty which provides continuing, comprehensive health care for the individual and family. It is a specialty in breadth that integrates the biological, clinical and behavioral sciences.
The scope of family medicine encompasses all ages, both sexes, each organ system and every disease entity. While knowledge and skill may be shared with other specialties, the family medicine process is unique. At the center of this process is the patient-physician relationship with the patient viewed in context of the family. It is the extent to which this relationship is valued, developed, nurtured and maintained that distinguishes family medicine from all other specialties.
Vision Statement: - Our direction is toward a more efficient, effective delivery of holistic healthcare based upon traditional medical values assisted by 21st century technology
What does all of this mean for you and your family? Quite simply it means you have chosen a medical practice that's committed to pursuing and documenting medical excellence. It means we treat you and your family the way we would want to be treated
Values:

Compassion: The caring of one human for another is central not only in medicine but for life in general. The relief of pain and illness whether physical, emotional, or spiritual has centrality among our core values for it is the wellspring from which all others flow. It is the reason we chose medicine. It is why we are here. We restore health and wellness whenever we can. When that is impossible, compassionate care remains our fundamental goal.
Respect: All life is to be revered for no other reason than its wonder and fragility. Whether deciding end of life options or during our everyday interactions among patients and office staff, this core value guides our manner and tone.
Integrity: Healthcare has over the years become more and more fragmented. Our focus on comprehensive holistic care begins with our ethical foundation. This attention guides our actions in the clinical realm, in the way our office operates and in the way we conduct our personal lives. This dedication to wholeness and ethics best describes our sense of integrity.
Trust: One of the greatest casualties of today’s healthcare system has been the lost of trust among doctors and patients. For that reason alone it is one our most treasured values. Patients have and will always come first. What is best for our patients will always supersede the interests of the physicians or our office staff.
Learning: Life itself is a learning process. The joy of learning is so evident on the faces of children and so soon forgotten as we grow older. Learning is constant and life long and so it is at FMGW. Not only do we help each other, we listen and learn from our patients. We continually learn how to improve upon what we do by regularly reviewing our practice performance - clinically and operationally.
